Mon Seul Plaisir, French and Flemish Chansons for winds and voice

Join Ars Perpetuum for an afternoon of French and Flemish Chansons by the greatest composers of the 15th and 16th centuries. These songs of love, devotion and desire by Sermisy, Sandrin, and others became the greatest hits of their day, many being known across the continent. The intricate counterpoint of Josquin and Lassus rounds out the program. You'll experience several different ensembles and instrumentations: the powerful sounds of the renaissance loud band with shawms, more delicate consort with dulcians and sackbuts, the purity of a recorder consort and a taste of the medieval loud band. Our musicians this concert are: Soprano, Olivia Knutsen, Keith Collins and Chris Armijo on shawms, dulcians, and recorders, Paul Von Hoff on sackbut and slide trumpet, and Sean McGhee on sackbut and recorder. Don't miss this rare trip back to renaissance France and the low countries!
